April 4 evening - final day before desert

So a few exciting things today. Repacked my food a third time before breakfast. Taking all the adviae from my canadian friends and others.  It all fits !!!Went to the packing seminar again and weighed my pack. 20 lbs 9 kg. that is pre water but everything else ;) I got the thumbs up from people.  First-timer that is brining stove and on 20 lbs - yay.

After lunch Shayne and I went to the Atlas studios. Where they shot kingdom of heave, Kundun, asterisk and Obelix and the Gladiator amongst other films.
Shaynes backpack weight 6,5 kilos.  How the hell is that possible. He did have more packing practice though.

Made my own granola almond butter musch when we got back. Figured it will replace the yucky protein bars I threw out.

Then I checked the gear a last time.  My mandatory headlight is not working. I tried to fix it but not happening. It is cracked.  Asked my Canadian amigos and Shayne had a spare great.
Barterd a small jar of almond butter for a headlight.

Then I notices that my Velcro on my shoes was already coming off.
Not good - it is what is supposed to keep my gaiters on and the sand out.
I leave hotel early to try to find better glue - the super glue I bought before lunch worked more as a solvent and messed up the other glue. Needed better glue.

Talked to a shop owner I met yesterday and he showed me the cobbler  - tucked away on a small courtyard. I try to explain that I need more glue and the two men behind the counter laugh and shake their heads at my handy work. I see that he is working on a pair of
Sneakers and 2 backpacks are already been fixed.  The man next to me points at the shoes as the cobbler rips off my Velcro.  Then he tells me to come back in an hour.  I out on my slippers (that I took just in case).  The man next to me leaves and the cobbler pointed at a picture on the wall.  It is of the man that was next to me. He is apparently a top contenter and they get their shoes stiched there.
I am in good hands.

Went to a 'fancy' place with the Canadians, Scott, Bob and Shayne. It was delicious.
Tomorrow at 7:30 we leave the hotel.
Then no more wireless.

Saturday is check in day and Sunday we start.

Peace. Love. CrossFit. Life.
Or as they say here.
إن شاء الله
