Since I have been hanging out with 2 Canadians that have both done these types of races before and both have excel sheets on their food content grams to carry and caloric value. As I re-packed my food again this morning, removing all original packaging , I realized I am also getting a bit obsessed.
My sheets are not excel but analog thus far writing eve thing down in my notebook I made a few changes.
This may all seem real trivial but when you think about carriying it, for 6 days, in heat, and sand dunes at times and so on you start thinking that those gels that are 40 gr each and 90 kcal might be a bad choice.
I found some almond butter. Like penut butter but mags
From almonds. - I am ditching my 10
Extra gels - that is 10x40 gr. 400 gr almost a pound in gel. You get the picture.
I think I have my pack dialed in. Will make tweaks later today as well.
Body is okay. Calf and foot the same but I will be hobbling along and take in te views.
Thankfully they have a camel in the back bringing up the rear. ;)
