...Hip back in its socket this morning by my physiotherapist - felt okay by lunch and fine by the afternoon.
Ate more calories today - but kept it pretty clean - had some bread in the morning and some greek spinach and feta small pies before the race - seemed to be sufficient fuel.
only 7 km so I did not carry any water or stop at any station. It was city trail - so up stairs down stairs - through bike paths and over hills - back on paths and so on - super beautiful evening and close to the water as you can see on the map.
Felt a bit apprehensive before start - felt like I would be last - and as if that mattered - but nerves I guess. I started at the very back and then I sort of picked off people not because I was chasing them but because I was faster - especially downhills. I started smiling and then I relaxed and it was great to be in a race again and I felt really happy that my ankles were good and rest of body cooperated. Hip is a little aggravated with me this evening but it will most likely be okay by tomorrow.
